By law certain safety checks must be completed in your home to ensure it is safe for you and your family.
DIO’s maintenance contractors, Amey or VIVO, will schedule and undertake these inspections. This includes a gas safety check once a year. Sometimes they will visit to carry out safety checks, and an engineer might test some items in your home. Other times they may need to carry out some work to make sure your home and family stay safe.
Compulsory safety checks are vital, so if you receive an appointment, you must allow DIO’s contractors access to carry out the work/inspection.

DIO’s maintenance contractors keep a record of the safety checks needed in each home. When it is time for a compulsory safety check in your home, you will be told 3 months before it happens. Most of the time this message will be sent by email, unless you have asked to be contacted in another way.
You do not need to book your compulsory safety check yourself. This will be arranged for you, and you will be contacted about 3 months before the visit is needed.

Yes. Before your appointment, you should receive a reminder email that tells you the date and the time of your appointment.
Yes. These appointments are very important because the checks are required by law. If you are a serving person, you are allowed to take time off work for them. Just make sure you agree the appointment time with your Chain of Command.
If you need to change the appointment you are given, please let Amey or VIVO know as soon as possible.
